Favorite tease of all is the ponytail. Regardless of the latest hairstyle, it’s the ponytail that garners looks on the runways. We see gorgeous ladies all wearing their signature pony tails. What’s the connection? The ponytail permits you to accent your face without toning down features. Simply put, it’s the master piece of the hairstyle.

For the past few years it has remained relatively the same. You’ll find it still in use today. Perhaps the biggest carryover from the past is the part pulled up from the crown with elegant flair. It’s much like the French braid. The beauty of the French braid is that it can magically get plaited up into an elegant show stopper.
The classic ponytail is also ideal for women with long hair. This style uses elastic and stays in place. It always has elegant appeal. When you have long hair the purpose of the ponytail is to make your hair look elegant. Therefore, it doesn’t need to be too tight. There doesn’t have to be a bend in the pony. If the hair is shoulder length, then it should be kept straight. The perfect ponytail should be sleek and go with the face shape of just about any woman.
To figure out the perfect ponytail, start by looking at the wearer’s face shape. Basically, there are four face shapes. The oval, the heart, the triangle, and the diamond. Looks interesting? Whichever of the four you are, there is a perfect style for you.
Oval – This is referred to as the ‘wedding’ face shape. This is anyone with a circular face. You can accent this face shape by having your hair high at the top on the forehead. Having your hair to the side also helps to accentuate the eyes.
*On the other hand, think of girls with rectangular face. To flatter this face shape, you should choose hair styles that are either side swept or feature a short back. You can also go for longer ponytails.
Heart – Anyone with a heart shaped face can use Blossom as it is excellent for broadening the waist. It is also advisable for anyone with a high forehead.
Trident – Anyone with a rectangular face can use this outline to shorten the face shape. It highlights the cheek bones and slim the jaw line.
Square – A smooth curve line to the side will give the square shape.
Diamond – A smooth back and sides with a slight curve from the top to the bottom will give your face the styled look you’ve always wanted.
Though not strictly speaking, any of these hairstyle designs work great for men who have either an oval or square face. Also, remember that you should never wear your hair completely straight.
