Do you dream of having a best perfume that changes according to your mood? Well, who wouldn’t want to have that? But how can one create such a Perfectinct perfume every time?
That’s what I’m going to explain in this article. There are different levels of perfumery, and I will discuss the essential oils one level below.
But first things first, we need to know something about perfumes. A perfume is composed of different notes. The top notes, referred to as top notes are the ones that stay on your skin the longest. They are the ones that ” Diagnose” whether or not you have an itch, cough or even a virus.
Since the top notes are easily diagnosed, we just have to wait for the other notes to appear. Just like an orchestra cycles through the instruments, the top notes are the ones that are triggers for the others to appear.
As I said earlier, there are different notes to choose from. You can choose from Floral, Fruity, Aquatic, Oriental, or Woody notes. But you should pay attention to the persons wearing them. A couple of examples for each category are very important.
So, now we know what the different categories are, we can now create different scents. You can create any scent you want, just think of selling differentiates. However, if you think that all sprays and lotions are same in any way, I can assure you that they are not. Something as simple as differences in molecules can lead to widely different scents.
It’s like the difference between sodas: some of them are very carbonated, some are plain. carbonation would add life, flavor and smell to a soda. The same could be said for oils. Some would have an oil base, some would have a water-based. Well, choose what you want. This is just a good reminder that not all natural things are alike.
So, now we know that perfumes are made of different notes. Now, we know how each note functions. In a perfume there are different notes to describe. For each note written separately, you can guess the level of that note. Let’s continue to discuss different types of perfumes.
First, we have the very top note, this is the perfume that is at the top of the bottle. In most fragrances that are true to its name, the top note is the first one to appear and it stays on the skin the longest. It is the one that is noticeable, and in some cases the first one that a person smells when they smell perfume. Although this is the first one to appear, it sure is the most important. You need to understand that the top notes are the deciding factor when people smell perfumes.
Second, we have the middle note, the one that will be detected at the middle of the scent. Although this is also the main theme of a perfume, the middle note is alright to be left for a while. There are cases where a perfume comes out at the end of the middle note. Sometimes the middle note is barely there at all. The same can also be said for the base note. The base is what makes up the middle and back notes in a perfume. Usually they are combined, so that the middle note adds something to the base note. And the same goes for the base and middle notes. The bottom (or middle) note is what makes up the base and so we are going to discuss about these notes a little bit separately.
The third (finest) note in a perfume, the base note, is what you smell when you smell the end of a perfume. The base note is what you need to fragrances, the one that “connotes” the fragrance. The reason that there is a transition from top to base in a perfume is because the perfume oils become evaporated over time, and there are different solutions for the base notes. Usually soprano and opera are the fragrances that have the darkest base note.
So, now you understand about scents. You need to definiants your own unique scent. Just like other rhythm, your fragrance must meet certain standards to be considered perfect. The only way to make a perfect scent is by trial and error. Don’t worry about what smells good to you, just try to make the scent that you want to smell. You fragrances will be complete as soon as you sample them.
